At Angel's Cakes, we take our relationships with our
customers seriously. And a good relationship starts
with a good introduction.
That's why we've put together an 'About Us' page.
It's our hope that by getting to know a little bit about us, a
new relationship can be fostered on the solid base of a
good introduction.
So please allow us to introduce Angel's Cakes to you and
assure you that Angel's Cakes is qualified
to be your bakery of choice. |

Who are we?
Simply put, we are Angel's Cakes. But more than that,
we are Amy Spalding and Ryan Henry. And although
we come from different backgrounds, we've come together
to each bring something to the table to help make
Angel's Cakes what it is today. Most important, believe us when we say
that we share in
your love of sweet treats! |

Amy Spalding
Ever since she landed her first baking job some
twenty-five years ago back home in Indiana, Amy has had a
passion for baking.
"It's just something I love to do," she says with a
smile. "I can't explain it. Knowing that
people are enjoying the taste of my desserts...it's a
good feeling"
But when she came to Vermont in the mid 1980's, she had
to put her dream of owning her own business aside and
went to work instead in the ski industry. Her
heart, however, was still in the kitchen. While
she never stopped baking, it wasn't until recently that
her dream of Angel's Cakes came to fruition.
"I used to be an accountant, but that just kept hurting
my brain," she jokes. |

Ryan Henry
With a background in the technical world of
civil and mechanical engineering, Ryan has a fascination
with the structural complexity of building a wedding
cake and its display.
"Most people don't realize that every cake
design is heavily influenced by basic engineering
principles," Ryan says. "From a simple calculation
of cake volume to a complicated structural
assessment of a multi-tiered, multi-layered wedding
cake arrangement, there is quite a bit of engineering
that takes place behind the scenes."
Although still a full-time practicing engineer, Ryan
also manages the marketing and website portions of
the business. And if you ever attended a Vermont
Wedding Association bridal show, you've probably seen
Ryan sharing wedding day dreams with brides and serving
up cake samples.
"Just like in engineering, everyday presents new
challenges that must be solved," he says with a
grin. |

Why are we? |
|
| |
Angel's Cakes was founded with the intention of
combining the traditional elegance found in most wedding
cake designs with a savory taste experience typically
associated with a fine gourmet dessert.
Maybe you can relate to this story. Have you ever
gone to a beautiful wedding followed by an exquisite meal
and then finally get to the wedding cake only to find out
that it was dry and tasted like it was from a box mix?
Unfortunately, stories like this are quite
common. What's worse is that a poor tasting wedding cake
will long be remembered after the music has ended and
the guests have gone home.
That's why Angel's Cakes puts exceeding its customers'
expectations as priority number 1. We know that
you are expecting outstanding customer service, a cake
perfectly designed to match your wedding style, all
combined with the comforting tastes like Grandma used to
make. |

How are we? |
|
| |
We're great, thanks for asking! Seriously
though, Angel's Cakes has experienced strong growth over
the last 12 months. This is due entirely to our
continued commitment to customer service and our core
principle of creating cakes from scratch using only the
finest Vermont products available. Not too toot
our own horn too much, but over the last 12 months,
Angel's Cakes has provided hundreds of families with
custom wedding cakes, cupcakes, birthday cakes,
graduation cakes, anniversary cakes, baby shower cakes,
and many other special occasion dessert treats. |
